LESSON IN OBEDIENCE PART 3 – DISOBEDIENCE TO THE FAITH.
Text: Jn. 2:1- 5; 2 Cor. 10:3-6; Ge. 2: 16-17; 3:1-3; Is. 53:6; Ro. 5:19; 1Cor. 2:14
God gave to man the freewill to choose. The very first man, Adam, exercised this freewill to disobey God. In Adam therefore, all men sinned but God demonstrated His righteous justice by giving Jesus Christ for the remission of sin of all mankind. All who embrace Christ as Savior are forgiven this original sin and credited with the righteousness of Christ.
All who are in Christ have by the same token been enabled to exercise their will to obey God. However, there is the need to constantly pull down strongholds erected by imaginations (logical and sound, but unscriptural reasoning). Sound mind that is not subjected to the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit will lead a man to disobey God.
